Human trafficking can happen to anyone in any community across our country. Every day, girls, women and boys are manipulated and recruited into the sex trade and forced labour. What may start as a seemingly innocent conversation online or in real life can quickly turn into something tragic. 

For decades, former MP Joy Smith has been a passionate advocate against human trafficking working tirelessly to raise awareness and most importantly, rescue and support survivors as they rebuild their lives. This annual fundraising event raises funds for the Joy Smith Foundation’s Prevention and Intervention programs. 

Anyone interested is welcome to join the team and build awareness as a baby step to help prevent further atrocities to children who are on average 13 years of age in Canada when lured into the sex trade.
